The walking goose – 2018
‘The walking goose’ is a prize-winning illustration! Aggy the goose was one of my first surrealistic animals. This illustration was exactly Aggy’s very first illustration. The title was immediately clear to me: ‘Aggy, the goose that one day will dare to fly’ With this story and the illustrations I was one of the three Dutch winners in the ‘Picture This! competition’ for illustrators in 2018.
A few things to know:
- This goose that I used as a model for Aggy lives in Akka’s ganzenparadijs, a shelter for geese.
- The helmet comes from a photo assignment, an event for antique motorbikes and their cyclists
- In all her illustrations, Aggy wears the same helmet I cut from it from the same photo
