Yesterday I was in the Library of Rotterdam. There was the start of the exhibition of winning illustrations from the ‘Picture This!’ competition* 2018 of publisher Lemniscaat. I am one of the three Dutch winners. The two other winners from the Netherlands were also there. We got a workshop from Mark Janssen, an illustrator. In addition to the publisher itself, a large number of employees had also come from Lemniscaat publishing house. The winning illustrations from all participating countries are printed in a beautiful booklet that will be handed out at the Children’s Book Fair in Bologna early next year to promote new illustration talent. The exhibition will travel through the Netherlands, Germany, Great Britain, and South Africa.

*’Picture this!’ is an initiative of Lemniscaat Publishers (NL) and the International Centre for the Picture Book in Society (GB). The competition is supported by Protea (ZA), Walker Books (GB), the Burg Wissem Bilderbuch Museum (DE), Kaléidoscope (FR), Lemniscaat Publishers (NL), and the International Centre for the Picture Book in Society (GB).
